Police fire tear gas at protesters at France's Fos-sur-Mer refinery - BFM

Scuffles broke out on Wednesday as protesters gathered at ExxonMobil's Fos-sur-Mer oil refinery site to protest against the French government's plans to increase the retirement age, according to images from BFM TV.

BFM TV showed the refinery site enveloped in tear gas, while some demonstrators intermittentely threw objects at police lines.

Earlier on Tuesday, the French government took steps to order workers to resume operations at the Fos refinery.
