PCI took notice over 'misbehavior' with journalist by Mumbai police

The Press Council of India (PCI) Thursday took note of the alleged misbehaviour with the journalist of a daily in Mumbai by the local police and said it views with a concern such incidents.
A statement by the Council referred to the Tuesday incident at Azad Maidan in Mumbai during coverage of the protest against a proposed oil refinery.
"A Notice for Statement in Reply has been issued to the government of Maharashtra and the concerned sub-inspector. The Council views with concern such incident, which tends to undermines the freedom of the press," the statement said.
