BSE Hits Record High: Sensex Peaks Amid Inflation Decline

The combined market capitalization of BSE-listed firms reached a new record of Rs 431.67 lakh crore, as the Sensex hit its lifetime high of 77,145.46 points. This rise is attributed to decreasing inflation rates and favorable domestic CPI data.

The combined market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms achieved a groundbreaking milestone, hitting Rs 431.67 lakh crore on Thursday. The benchmark Sensex simultaneously reached a record lifetime high.

Rising for a consecutive day, the 30-share BSE benchmark soared by 538.89 points (0.70%), reaching its peak at 77,145.46. It ended the day at a new high of 76,810.90, increasing by 204.33 points or 0.27%.

Driven by India's favorable CPI data showcasing a decline in inflation, the market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies hit an unprecedented Rs 4,31,67,541.81 crore (USD 5.17 trillion). Investors' wealth surged by Rs 4.72 lakh crore in just two days.
