Rs 3 Crore Sanctioned for Kanwar Yatra 2024: Key Preparations Underway

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has sanctioned Rs three crores for the systematic conduct of Kanwar Yatra 2024. Comprehensive arrangements are being made to ensure peace, security, and traffic management for the event, scheduled to begin on July 22 in Uttar Pradesh.

To ensure a seamless Kanwar Yatra 2024, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved Rs three crores, as per governmental instructions. The funds are allocated against departmental demands and have been made available to District Magistrate Haridwar. The Chief Minister had previously directed officials in review meetings to oversee Yatra arrangements meticulously.

Dhami stressed the importance of providing essential facilities to Shiva devotees, referencing last year's Yatra. The Chief Minister instructed departments to prioritize peace, law, order, and traffic management. Additional Secretary Urban Development Nitin Bhadoria's government order to the District Magistrate of Haridwar emphasized reviewing departmental funding requests and adhering to financial rules for expenditure on essential works. Proposals requiring separate governmental approval for construction estimates will be submitted separately.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Director-General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar have inspected preparations in Ayodhya, where the Yatra will commence on July 22. They assessed key sites including the Hanuman Garhi Ramlala and Mani Parvat Temples. Both officials held a review meeting with various departments, focusing on the Yatra's route, traffic, and security measures. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had earlier mandated thorough preparations to ensure maximum convenience and safety for all pilgrims.
