Maharashtra was on Wednesday honored with the Best Agriculture State Award for 2024 by the Agriculture Today Group. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde accepted the accolade from Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Nitin Gadkari.
Shinde expressed pride in receiving the award, attributing the recognition to the hard work of Maharashtra's farmers. He noted the state's historical role in leading revolutions like the Industrial, Green, White, and Information and Broadcasting revolutions, and its current leadership in the Green Gold Revolution.
The award was presented during the 15th Agriculture Leadership Awards function, acknowledging Maharashtra's innovative bamboo cultivation initiatives aimed at combating climate change, as highlighted by Chouhan. Additionally, Chouhan praised the state government's enhancement of financial assistance through the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme and provision of affordable crop insurance for farmers.
