Using their official handle on X, the Additional Directorate General Public Information of the Indian Army celebrated this achievement, announcing that it is the first time in the history of Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) that such a procedure was successfully carried out.

In what the Indian Army described as a rare feat, the harvested kidneys were transplanted into two recipients—one from the Indian Navy and the other, a dependent from the Indian Army—providing them both with a new lease on life.
