Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an aerial survey of flood-hit areas in Shravasti on Thursday. The CM also distributed relief materials to the affected residents in the region.

Adityanath will further inspect a local flood relief camp before departing for Balrampur at 1.40 pm. Uttar Pradesh's Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh confirmed that both the administration and government are closely monitoring the flood situation.

'Due to heavy rainfall in Nepal, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh over the past 4-5 days, a flood-like situation has developed,' said Singh. 'The government and administration are on high alert. Officials are working tirelessly, and relief materials are being provided,' he added. On Wednesday, CM Yogi inspected flood-affected areas in Lakhimpur Kheri, conducted aerial surveys, met with affected individuals in Pilibhit, and distributed relief supplies.

Following his aerial survey, CM Yogi reported that 133 villages have been affected by heavy rainfall in the first week of July, impacting thousands of hectares of cropland. He praised public representatives and local administrations for their timely efforts in preventing a larger calamity. As of now, 12 districts are facing severe flooding with ongoing rescue and relief operations.

Several villages in Lakhimpur Kheri have been particularly affected by overflow from the Sharda River, displacing residents and damaging homes. The affected families have been forced to relocate to temporary shelters.
