Lok Sabha MP Manoj Tiwari on Thursday lambasted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of being the central figure in the Delhi liquor policy scandal. In a press conference held in the National Capital, the BJP MP from North East Delhi alleged that funds meant for slum area development were diverted by the AAP-led government toward the liquor scam. Tiwari demanded Kejriwal's resignation on moral grounds, claiming the AAP party misused public welfare money.

"Funds earmarked for slum areas were misappropriated by the AAP for the liquor scandal," claimed Tiwari. He highlighted that Kejriwal had previously vowed to resign if any allegations were substantiated against him. "With the ED charge sheet revealing clear evidence, we expect him to step down on moral grounds," Tiwari added. He further stated that Kejriwal is named as the 37th accused in the charge sheet, underscoring his alleged role as the mastermind of the scam.

Regarding the Munak Canal breach in North Delhi, Tiwari blamed the Delhi government for failing to maintain the canal, which led to flooding in the Bawana region. "Neglect and lack of proper maintenance have resulted in this situation. The central government will do everything within its power, but the Delhi government must act immediately," Tiwari stated. Delhi's Water Minister Atishi confirmed that repair work is underway and expected to be completed soon, ensuring the canal will be functional by tomorrow.
