Nitin Gadkari Inaugurates Key Infrastructure Projects to Enhance Road Connectivity in Goa

The new road infrastructure promises smoother and safer traffic movement, resulting in savings on fuel consumption and travel time.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, dedicated a significant infrastructure project to the nation today, inaugurating a 6-lane access-controlled road with elevated viaducts from Manohar International Airport to Dhargal on NH-166S in Goa. The ceremony was attended by Goa Chief Minister Shri Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State Shri Shripad Naiki, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sadanand Tanavade, MLAs, and senior officials.

The 7 km stretch, developed at a cost of ₹1183 crore, aims to enhance connectivity to Manohar International Airport, facilitating faster and more convenient travel. This development is expected to boost tourism activities and improve multi-modal connectivity, leading to reduced logistics costs.

The new road infrastructure promises smoother and safer traffic movement, resulting in savings on fuel consumption and travel time. It is also anticipated to drive overall socio-economic growth in the region, positively impacting the local economy and quality of life for residents.

In addition to the inauguration, Shri Nitin Gadkari announced two major projects:

Construction of a 45 km Bypass from Wadgaon to the Karnataka Border: This project, costing ₹3500 crore, is expected to enhance regional connectivity and ease traffic flow.

4-laning of the Panaji-Belgaum Section of NH-748: Spanning 52 km, this project will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹4000 crore, further improving connectivity between Goa and Karnataka.

These projects mark significant steps towards modernizing road infrastructure in Goa, ensuring improved travel experiences and fostering economic development in the region.
