On Thursday, SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma-IPS, accompanied by ASP Reasi and ICPP Thanole, assessed old infiltration routes, hideouts, and crime prevention strategies during a visit to Police Post Thanole and the newly established Police Component Narkote in Reasi district, Jammu and Kashmir. The primary aim was to enhance public safety and law enforcement efficiency.

SSP Reasi's visit focused on ensuring the optimal operation of police units for the community's service and protection. She held discussions with the public, addressing their concerns and guaranteeing their security from anti-national elements. Sharma reviewed past terrorist attacks and ongoing initiatives, scrutinizing their effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.

Expressing her satisfaction with the performance of both units, SSP Reasi praised the hard work and dedication of the police personnel. Her visit aimed to motivate and inspire the team to continue their vigilant efforts in protecting minority areas. This initiative demonstrates the department's commitment to maintaining high operational standards and meeting the community's needs.

Since June 9, the region has witnessed terror strikes in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda, resulting in the deaths of nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan, with several civilians and security personnel injured. Recently, an Army convoy ambush in Kathua district led to the death of five Army personnel and injuries to others. The National Investigation Agency is probing the circumstances surrounding the attack.
