Karnataka Minister Urges Japanese Firms to Champion State Investments
MB Patil, Karnataka's Minister for Large and Medium Industries, called on Japanese companies in the state to promote investment opportunities to their counterparts in Japan. Highlighting the state's industry-friendly policies, Patil also invited participation in the Global Investors Meet scheduled for February 2025.

On Wednesday, MB Patil, Minister for Large and Medium Industries in Karnataka, urged Japanese companies based in the state to act as ambassadors and attract increased investments from Japan. Speaking at an event organized by the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Patil noted potential investment opportunities identified during his recent delegation to Japan.
Patil encouraged company representatives to inform businesses in their home country about Karnataka's industry-friendly policies, available human resources, and favourable climatic conditions. He expressed admiration for many aspects of Japan, particularly its transport system, and highlighted that over 70 percent of Japanese companies in India have operations in Karnataka. "The visit to Japan was very successful," Patil remarked.
The Minister also invited industry experts to participate in the Global Investors Meet, set to take place from February 12-14, 2025. S. Selvakumar, Principal Secretary, and Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner of the Department of Industries, noted that the state offers incentives to industries based on investment size and encouraged existing Japanese companies in Karnataka to advocate for more investments.
Tsutomu Nakane, Consul General of Japan in Bengaluru, Hokoto Kaya, Deputy Consul General, and over a hundred industry leaders were present at the event. (ANI)
