Heavy floods have significantly slowed traffic on the Lucknow-Delhi National Highway (NH 24), according to Superintendent of Police, Shahjahanpur Ashok Kumar Meena. Roads were submerged in water this morning, causing continuous slow traffic and necessitating diversions coordinated with surrounding vehicles.

Police forces were deployed to clear the waterlogged roads, with additional traffic from Sitapur and Katra being diverted. Meena mentioned the potential need for further diversions if issues persist, directing both small and large vehicles to alternate routes.

On July 10, heavy rains caused widespread flooding across 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh, affecting over 100 villages and croplands. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited flood-prone areas in Lakhimpur, Kheri, and Pilibhit, distributing relief materials and meeting affected residents. His aerial survey revealed 133 flood-hit villages, with thousands of hectares of cropland impacted. Precautionary measures near Sharda Barrage helped avert significant loss of life and property.

Meanwhile, heavy rainfall also struck Delhi-NCR, prompting severe flood warnings. Delhi Minister Atishi assured preparedness for swift action, echoing the Indian Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast of more rains in northern and northeastern India, including East Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR, in the coming days.
