Baikuntha Pradhan, a Raj Bhavan employee in Odisha, has accused Governor Raghubar Das's son, Lalit Kumar, along with six others, of assaulting him on the night of July 7. A complaint has been registered at Sea Beach Police Station in Odisha’s Puri. Pradhan had earlier informed the Governor about the incident through a letter.

In his letter, Pradhan, who serves as an Assistant Section Officer in the Parliamentary Affairs Department, stated that he was assaulted by Kumar and his associates at Raj Bhavan, Puri, while supervising arrangements for the visit of President Droupadi Murmu. Pradhan claimed that Kumar scolded him in abusive language and physically attacked him when he objected.

Pradhan further alleged that Kumar threatened his life, stating that no one could save him if they decided to murder him. Pradhan has called for justice, claiming severe humiliation and bodily injuries. His wife, Sayoj, corroborated the assault, attributing it to Kumar's dissatisfaction over not being provided a luxury car during the President’s visit. The Governor’s office has yet to respond to these allegations.
