Uttar Pradesh Man Claims Snake Predicted Multiple Bites in Dreams

A man from Uttar Pradesh has allegedly survived seven snake bites within 40 days, claiming the reptile foretold in dreams it would take his life on the ninth attempt. Medical officials are investigating the case to determine the truth behind his claims.

A 24-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district, Vikas Dubey, claims to have survived seven snake bites in 40 days, with the reptile allegedly appearing in his dreams and predicting it would take his life on its ninth attempt. Dubey, a resident of Soura village, reported the latest bite occurred at his uncle's home on Thursday evening.

'The first incident,' Dubey said, 'occurred on June 2 when I was bitten after getting out of bed. Every Saturday, I get bitten by a snake. In my dream, the snake tells me it will bite me nine times and take my life on the ninth attempt. It said no doctor, tantrik, maharaj, or pandit could save me.'

Doctors are puzzled by this recurring phenomenon, with Dubey stating he experiences a premonition hours before each bite. 'Three to four hours before I get bitten, I get a premonition. I inform my family, and they try to protect me,' he said. Dr. Jawahar Lal, who treated Dubey, advised him to stay elsewhere after the fourth bite.

'Despite moving to my aunt's house, I was bitten again. The seventh incident occurred at my uncle's residence on a Thursday,' Dubey added. He believes the snake won't bite him this Saturday because it bit him on Thursday.

Chief Medical Officer Rajiv Nayan Giri revealed Dubey sought financial assistance due to the expenses incurred from the treatments. 'The victim came to the Collectorate, weeping and requesting financial help. I advised him to visit a government-run hospital where he could receive anti-snake venom free of cost,' Giri commented.

The CMO found it strange that Dubey gets bitten every Saturday and recovers in a day. 'We need to verify if it is indeed a snake bite and assess the treating doctor's competence. This is why we formed a three-doctor team to investigate the case,' he noted.

Officials said Dubey has always recovered after receiving medical treatment following each alleged snake attack. (ANI)
