IAF Marks Kargil Vijay Diwas with Spectacular Air Show

In celebration of the 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Indian Air Force hosted an impressive air show at Air Force Station Sarsawa. The event showcased the skills of the Air Warrior Drill Team and featured advanced aircraft formations, concluding with a tribute to fallen heroes and an aerobatic finale.

The Indian Air Force commemorated the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas with a stunning air show at Air Force Station Sarsawa in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur. The event, held ahead of the July 26 anniversary, highlighted human courage and skill, featuring movements by the Air Warrior Drill Team and the skydiving team.

In a social media post, the IAF stated, 'In commemoration of 25 years of Kargil victory, #IAF organized an air show showcasing human courage and skill. Flawless movements by Air Warrior Drill Team followed by a daring display by sky diving team #AkashGanga, impeccable formations of Rafale, Jaguar, AN-32, and Dornier enthralled the spectators. A befitting finale was the low-level aerobatic performance by the Su-30 MKI over the skies of Air Force Station Sarsawa.' The event also included a 'Missing Man' formation and slithering operations by Mi-17 helicopters as a tribute to the fallen heroes of Kargil.

The IAF and Indian Army bands delivered a stellar performance to conclude the event, which commemorates the victory of Operation Vijay in 1999. Celebrated annually on July 26, Kargil Vijay Diwas marks the successful reclamation of strategic positions in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir by Indian forces. The day honors the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers who defended the nation.

This year's 25th anniversary celebrations will be held with great enthusiasm on July 26 at the historic Ridge Ground in Shimla. Organized with the support of district administration, the Department of Soldier Welfare, and the Army, the event will pay homage to the Kargil heroes. If weather conditions are unfavorable, the event will be moved to the Gaiety Theatre, with special parades and weapon displays to be held at Ridge Maidan.
