In a swift operation, Punjab Police apprehended two notorious gangsters, Deepak and Ramandeep Singh, following a brief gunfight near the Rajpura-Patiala toll plaza on Sunday night. The accused were involved in two firing incidents late Saturday and were attempting to evade arrest.

According to the Director General of Police (DGP), a police team, armed with intelligence about their whereabouts, intercepted the duo as they were traveling from Mohali. In a desperate bid to escape, the gangsters opened fire, prompting a retaliatory response from the police, which resulted in one of the suspects getting injured and subsequently apprehended.

Sharing details on social media platform X, DGP Punjab Police highlighted the successful operation, emphasizing that within 12 hours, the force had solved two significant firing incidents and detained the suspects.
