Indian Army Foils Infiltration Attempt, Eliminates Three Foreign Terrorists in Keran Sector

In a critical operation, the Indian Army neutralized three foreign terrorists attempting to infiltrate through the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir's Keran Sector. Based on credible intelligence, ambushes were laid, leading to an intense firefight and subsequent recovery of significant war-like stores.

In a significant operation, the Indian Army successfully eliminated three hardcore foreign terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran Sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Acting on credible inputs, multiple ambushes were laid along the infiltration routes on the intervening night of July 13-14.

Commander of the 268th Infantry Brigade, Keran Sector, Brigadier NR Kulkarni elaborated on the encounter. He said, "We had intelligence inputs of terrorists trying to disturb normalcy and specifically target the Amarnath Yatra. Our agencies provided specific inputs on July 12, indicating a mixed group of foreign terrorists likely to infiltrate through the Keran Sector."

Brigadier Kulkarni added that multiple ambushes were jointly laid by the Army, BSF, and JKP. "The terrorists, taking advantage of thick foliage and poor visibility, managed to cross the LoC but were intercepted. In the ensuing intense fire-fight, three terrorists were neutralized, and large quantities of war-like stores were recovered," he noted.
