The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken up a case following a request from the Chhattisgarh government concerning alleged favouritism in the selection process for Deputy Collectors and other senior positions by the State Public Service Commission during the 2020-2022 exams.
Previously, a case was filed against then-Chairman, then-Secretary, and then-Controller of Examinations of the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC), among others. They are accused of abusing their official positions to recruit their sons, daughters, relatives, and acquaintances, who were allegedly ineligible, into various posts in the Chhattisgarh government through unfair examination and interview procedures during the specified period.
Accusations specify that the son of the then-Chairman was appointed as Deputy Collector, his elder brother's son as Deputy SP, and other family members in several senior roles. Similar allegations are made against the then-Secretary, who allegedly got his son selected for a Deputy Collector post. The CBI is presently conducting searches at the residences of the then-Chairman and Secretary, as well as at the official premises in Raipur and Bhilai. Further investigations are ongoing. (ANI)
