CBI Investigates CGPSC Officials for Recruitment Malpractices

The CBI has initiated a probe against former CGPSC officials for alleged recruitment malpractices during the 2020-22 exams. Key accused include the former Chairman, Secretary, and Controller of Examinations. Searches were conducted at various locations in Chhattisgarh.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched an inquiry into former Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) officials over alleged recruitment irregularities during the 2020-22 exams. The investigation targets the former Chairman, Secretary, and Controller of Examinations, among others.

Searches were conducted at multiple locations in Chhattisgarh, including Raipur and Bhilai, as part of the probe. According to the CBI, the case was registered following a request from the Chhattisgarh Government to investigate previous complaints handled by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) police station in Raipur.

The CBI alleges that high-ranking officials misused their positions to appoint ineligible candidates, including their own relatives, to senior government posts. The inquiry revealed that the former Chairman's son was selected as Deputy Collector, while other family members secured key positions. Further, the ex-Secretary is accused of securing a Deputy Collector post for his son. The investigation remains ongoing.
