In a significant operation against illegal ganja cultivation, a joint team comprising the Border Security Force (BSF), Forest Department, and Jatrapur Police Station conducted a raid at the residence of Babul Mazumdar in Village Nirbhoypur.
According to an official release, on July 16, 2024, based on specific intelligence about Babul Mazumdar preparing a ganja plant nursery behind his house, the joint operation was meticulously planned and executed.
During the raid, the team destroyed more than 15,000 ganja saplings by uprooting them. Legal actions are currently being taken by the Forest Department and Jatrapur Police Station against the landowners.
