Heavy Rains Trigger Landslides on Karnataka's NH 75, Authorities Take Immediate Action

Following mudslides due to heavy rains on NH 75 in Karnataka, Deputy Divisional Officer Shruti informed that nodal officers have been deployed to oversee landslide-prone areas. Relief centers have been set up, and traffic diversion is in place. Coordination with NHAI is ongoing for road safety measures.

In the wake of heavy rains causing mudslides on National Highway 75 in Karnataka, Deputy Divisional Officer of Sakleshpura, Shruti, has announced the deployment of nodal officers to manage landslide-prone areas.

Speaking to reporters, Shruti emphasized that extensive preparations had been undertaken for flood and landslide readiness, including appointing nodal officers at the taluka level to monitor vulnerable sites.

She further stated that residents were advised to transfer valuable items to safer locations, adding that four to five flood relief centers had been identified for potential use.

Regarding the ongoing national highway construction from Bengaluru to Mangaluru, Shruti mentioned that they are in close coordination with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Engineers are actively visiting affected sites to implement safety measures. Traffic diversions are in effect to minimize inconvenience for commuters. (ANI)
