Japanese Delegation Strengthens Ties with Gujarat During Courtesy Visit

A Japanese delegation from Shizuoka Prefecture, led by Atsuyuki Rachi, met Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to discuss long-term bilateral relations and potential collaborations in education, tourism, and industry. The meeting emphasized the significance of Indo-Japan partnership and future initiatives to bolster economic ties.

A delegation of 18 members from Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. The delegation was headed by Atsuyuki Rachi, a member of the Shizuoka Prefectural Assembly and Secretary General of the India-Japan Friendship Parliamentary League of the Assembly. The discussions focused on the enduring relations between the two nations in education, research, tourism, and culture, alongside commercial relations with Gujarat.

The Shizuoka region stands as the fourth most significant 'Made in Japan' industry hub. The delegation emphasized the region's importance for major automobile industries such as Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, and Toyota. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel welcomed the delegation, stating that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India-Japan relations have flourished like trusted friends, and expressed his confidence in furthering these bilateral relations in Gujarat.

The Chief Minister highlighted that just like the credibility of 'Made in Japan', 'Make in India' is dedicated to environmental friendliness and world-class products, following the Zero Defect-Zero Effect mantra. He assured the delegation of a favorable environment for Japanese industries in Gujarat, emphasizing the proactive approach of the government to ensure smooth operations and continued progress in Indo-Japan bilateral relations.

Patel also lauded Japan's cooperation and contribution as a partner country in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. Atsuyuki Rachi extended an invitation to CM Patel to visit Japan and his region, noting that their Governor is also keen to visit India and Gujarat soon. He expressed readiness to sign an MOU in trade and industry to enhance Gujarat-Shizuoka relations.
