Tragic Electrocution During Muharram Tazia Procession
A 12-year-old child was killed and five others injured during separate electrocution incidents at a Tazia procession. The incidents occurred in Tarabganj and Telianpurwa areas, where the Tazia came into contact with high-tension wires. A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday when a 12-year-old child was killed, and five others were injured in separate incidents of electrocution during a Tazia procession here, according to police reports.
During the Muharram procession in the Tarabganj area around 1 pm, the Tazia came into contact with a high-tension wire, resulting in severe burn injuries to Ashraf (12) and Riyasat. Both were rushed to a medical college, where Ashraf was pronounced dead, while Riyasat's condition was reported to be stable.
In another incident in Telianpurwa village in the Itiathok area, four people, including a woman, were similarly injured when the Tazia touched an electricity line. Those injured, identified as Babu, Akram, Gaya Prasad, and Munni Devi, were taken to a hospital where their conditions were said to be stable.
