In a tragic turn of events, two workers died in an accident at the state-run Singareni Collieries coal mine in Peddapalli district, Telangana on Wednesday, officials reported.
The fatal incident took place in the Ramagundam Opencast-2 mine where the workers were engaged in repairing a dewatering pipeline when suddenly the soil loosened, causing the sidewall to collapse on them, according to sources.
The ill-fated workers, aged between 46 and 58, did not survive the accident. Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy has extended his condolences to the grieving families.
