In a coordinated effort, the Delhi Crime Branch and Telangana Crime Branch successfully apprehended Sumit Dagar, a notorious proclaimed offender involved in multiple criminal activities. Dagar, who had been evading law enforcement for two years, was caught in Rohini on Wednesday.
Additional CP Crime Sanjay Bhatia confirmed the arrest, stating, 'Sumit Dagar had been absconding since December 2022 after a daring armed robbery at a jewellery store in Telangana, where he looted 4 kg of gold.' Dagar was reportedly hiding in various locations across Delhi before being tracked down.
Bhatia revealed that Dagar was wanted not only for the robbery but also for an older murder case in Bindapur. Despite receiving parole during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dagar orchestrated the Telangana robbery with accomplices.
