Tripura CM Saha Asserts BJP's Victory in Upcoming Panchayat Elections

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed confidence in BJP's win in the upcoming panchayat elections, following nomination submissions. He visited Mata Tripuri Temple, joined a nomination rally in Gomati district, and emphasized party unity and grassroots communication during a recent meeting, urging discipline among BJP members.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Thursday expressed confidence in BJP's imminent victory in the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections. As the nomination period concluded, Saha made a visit to the Mata Tripuri Temple, where he offered prayers for electoral success.

'Today is the last day to file the nominations. We gathered here and also visited the Mata Tripuri temple. With her blessings, we will win these three-tier panchayat elections,' Saha told ANI. The Chief Minister also joined the Nomination Submission Rally for the Paschim Tripura Zila Parishad and Zila Panchayat polls in Gomati district, drawing a substantial turnout of BJP supporters.

'With unwavering trust & immense blessings from the people, I participated today in the nomination submission rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party nominees in Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad for Panchayat Polls,' Saha shared on X. This rally marked the deadline for nomination submissions for the three-tier Panchayat elections set for August 8.

Later, Saha visited Matabari for a party event, where he prayed at Tripureswari Mandi, seeking blessings from Mother Tripurasundari for the state's happiness and prosperity. Previously on July 14, Dr Saha addressed the BJP's Extended State Executive Meeting, advocating party unity and discipline. He stressed the significance of relaying both state and central government development efforts to the public and maintaining decorum during the elections.

'Highlight all development works for the welfare of the people and country. It is crucial to bring these matters to the grassroots level,' Dr Saha stated. He also warned against violence and disorderly conduct during the election period, emphasizing law and order. The meeting saw attendance from key BJP leaders, including Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP Coordinator for North-East Sambit Patra, Tripura MPs Biplab Kumar Deb and Kriti Singh Debbarma, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharya, and Former Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma.

The Panchayat elections in Tripura are scheduled for August 8, with vote counting on August 12. (ANI)
