ED Files Prosecution Complaint in Major Drug Trafficking Case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Jalandhar has filed a Prosecution Complaint against Sakatar Singh, his brother Makhan Singh, and their families for drug trafficking. Assets worth Rs. 3.91 crore were provisionally attached, and Sakatar Singh arrested. Further investigations are ongoing.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Jalandhar has filed a Prosecution Complaint (PC) before the Honorable Special Court (PMLA) against Sakatar Singh, his brother Makhan Singh, and members of their families in connection with a major drug trafficking case. As per the ED, the accused had amassed properties through illegal dealings in narcotics.

The ED stated, "The Honorable Court has taken cognizance of the Prosecution Complaint on July 17, 2024." The investigation was initiated based on FIRs lodged by the Punjab Police and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Following this, searches were conducted at 10 premises on February 3, 2023, in villages Sheron and Nausheran Pannuan, and Tarn Taran.

"Earlier on July 12, 2024, the ED provisionally attached immovable properties, bank balances, and cash worth Rs. 3.91 Crore under PMLA provisions. Sakatar Singh was arrested on July 4, 2024, and is currently in judicial custody," the ED further stated. The investigation continues. (ANI)
