Government Sanctions Rs 130 Crores for Monsoon Disaster Repair and Reconstruction

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami approved Rs 130 crores for disaster repair works ahead of the 2024 monsoon season. The funds will be distributed among district magistrates, ensuring rapid reconstruction of damaged assets. In anticipation of the 2024 monsoon season, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has sanctioned Rs 130 crores for repair and reconstruction works under the State Disaster Relief Fund. This substantial amount is to be disbursed among all district magistrates at a rate of Rs 10 crores each, as directed by the Secretary of the Disaster Management Department.

Chief Minister Dhami emphasized that reconstruction of disaster-damaged assets should be expedited without delay. During a recent meeting on monsoon preparedness, he mandated that all repair and reconstruction works be given priority, and necessary funds be allocated promptly. Consequently, the government has approved Rs 130 crores from SDRF funds for urgent repair and reconstruction tasks.

Dhami assured the public that the government is fully equipped to handle disasters, with a commitment to minimize public inconvenience. The Chief Minister highlighted that prompt relief and rescue operations are already in place, and there will be no shortage of funds for disaster-related activities. District magistrates have been instructed to ensure uninterrupted services like electricity, water, food grains, and medical care during the monsoon season. Continuous monitoring by the Disaster Management Department and 24x7 Emergency Operation Centres are part of the government's strategy to provide timely relief to the public.
