Anti-Gangster Task Force Nabs Key Gang Member in Italy

The Anti-Gangster Task Force of the Rajasthan Police arrested Amarjeet Singh Bishnoi, a significant associate of gangster Rohit Godara, in Italy. Coordinated efforts with Italian authorities and other agencies led to Bishnoi’s capture, while three other gang members were apprehended in a separate operation in Punjab.

The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of the Rajasthan Police has successfully apprehended Amarjeet Singh Bishnoi, an accomplice of notorious gangster Rohit Godara, in Italy. Police confirmed that Bishnoi, who had a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head, was nabbed in Sicily following a tip-off from the AGTF.

Dinesh MN, the Additional Director General (ADG) of Police in the Anti Corruption Bureau, Rajasthan, stated that the AGTF had been tracking Amarjeet Singh for an extended period, ultimately tracing him to Italy. The arrest was facilitated by collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs, leading to his detention by Italian authorities on July 8.

Bishnoi was residing in Italy without legal citizenship. He had been under the radar since December 3, 2022, when the Rohit Godara gang murdered rival gangster Raju Theth. Additionally, the AGTF Punjab, in a joint operation with Rajasthan and Bathinda Police, apprehended three members of the Lawrence Bishnoi and USA-based Goldy Brar Gang, identified as Gurpreet Singh, Maninder Singh, and Harcharanjit Singh, all with extensive criminal records.

Police recovered two .32 caliber pistols with six cartridges from the accused. DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav applauded the AGTF and Bathinda Police teams, headed by AIG Sandeep Goel and DSP Rajan Parminder, for their successful operation with oversight from ADGP Promod Ban.
