Indian Army Bolsters Presence in Jammu to Combat Infiltration
The Indian Army has redeployed forces in Jammu following the infiltration of Pakistani terrorists. Around 500 commandos and 3,500-4,000 troops are deployed. Intelligence agencies are targeting terrorist support infrastructure. Existing counter-terrorism units include the Romeo and Delta forces of the Rashtriya Rifles.

In response to the infiltration of highly trained Pakistani terrorists in the Jammu region, the Indian Army is revising its troop deployments based on intelligence inputs and security needs. Approximately 500 Para Special Forces commandos are now stationed in the area to track down the 50-55 terrorists suspected of entering the region to reinstate terrorism, according to defense sources.
Additionally, intelligence agencies have strengthened their operations in the region, aiming to dismantle the terrorist support network, including overground workers who assist these militants. To counter Pakistan's proxy aggression, the Army has also deployed a brigade-sized force, totaling around 3,500-4,000 personnel, defense sources confirmed.
Senior Army officials on the ground are formulating strategies to locate and neutralize the terrorists, who possess advanced weaponry and communication tools. The existing counter-terrorism framework includes two Rashtriya Rifles forces, the Romeo and Delta units, along with other regular infantry divisions, they added. (ANI)
