SpiceJet announced on Friday that its technical outage has been completely resolved, with all systems returning to normal operations. In an official statement, Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, praised his team for minimizing disruptions to passengers' travel schedules, successfully operating all scheduled flights.

'We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our passengers and stakeholders during this time. The technical outage has been fully resolved, and all our systems are back to normal operations,' Singh added. The company emphasized its commitment to passenger convenience despite the challenges posed by a global technical outage, noting that no flights were canceled.

Globally, key services including flight operations, banking, financial services, and hospitals were disrupted due to an outage in Microsoft's cloud services. In India, flight operations were significantly impacted, with virtually all airlines forced to cancel or reschedule flights. Passengers shared their experiences on social media, showcasing handwritten boarding passes. The central government engaged with Microsoft to address the issue.

Union Minister of Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu reassured travelers that the ministry and Airports Authority of India (AAI) are managing the situation with manual methods to minimize disruption. The Reserve Bank of India noted that only 10 banks and NBFCs reported minor disruptions, which have since been resolved.

Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, linked to the software update causing the outage, stated the issue has been isolated and a fix deployed. CEO George Kurtz reassured customers, stating it was 'not a security incident or cyberattack.'
