The Darbhanga Police have arrested three more suspects linked to the murder of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani's father, Jitan Sahani. Senior Superintendent of Police Jagunath Raddi identified the suspects as Sitare, Chhote Laheri, and Mohd. Azad, confirming that the primary accused Kazim Ansari had already been detained.
SSP Raddi noted that actions are based on evidence and scientific research. Shortly after the murder, the Bihar police formed a special investigation team to probe the case, a move highlighting the urgency of the situation.
The incident has sparked a political uproar in Bihar, with RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav criticizing the Nitish Kumar government's handling of law and order. Yadav claimed, "No day goes by without a murder...The Chief Minister is in an unconscious state of mind," reflecting concerns about public safety.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary assured that all accused would be brought to justice. "Action will be taken, and the accused will be put behind bars. The government stands with Mukesh Sahani's family," Choudhary stated.
Union ministers Ramnath Thakur and Giriraj Singh also vowed definitive action, stressing that the government is taking the matter seriously and committing to ensuring justice for the victim's family.
Jitan Sahani was the father of Mukesh Sahani, a former Bihar government minister and president of the VIP Party. In the Lok Sabha elections, the VIP Party allied with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) to contest three seats in Bihar.
