Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav declared on Saturday that his administration intends to establish a diamond polishing industry in the state. Yadav emphasized, 'We produce diamonds here, but they go elsewhere to be polished. We will try to ensure that this diamond is polished here and its industry is also established here.'

Making the announcement at the Regional Industry Conclave in Jabalpur, the Chief Minister also revealed plans to set up a skill development centre in the district focused on the textile and garment sectors. 'We will establish an ultra-modern skill development centre in Jabalpur to promote textiles and garments,' he stated.

Emphasizing economic milestones, Yadav said, 'For 250 years, they looted us, but in just 70-75 years, we surpassed them and achieved a new milestone of being the fifth-largest economy in the world.'

Highlighting the region's industrial capabilities, Yadav noted, 'Here, 16 industrial parks are in the Mahakoshal region with 517 MSME units. In the pharma sector, there are more than 275 pharmaceutical units in Pithampur alone in Madhya Pradesh, exporting to over 160 countries.'

The Regional Industry Conclaves, pre-events for the 'Invest Madhya Pradesh-Global Investor Summit-2025,' scheduled for February in Bhopal, aim to foster investor cooperation. An official release mentioned participation from over 3500 industry leaders, industrialists, and foreign delegates at the Jabalpur conclave. CM Yadav is also set to virtually inaugurate approximately 60 units and hold individual discussions with industrialists.'
