FM Sitharaman’s Union Budget 2024-25: Nine Priorities for India's Growth

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, presenting her seventh consecutive Union Budget for 2024-25, has outlined nine key priorities aimed at driving economic growth and generating ample opportunities across India.
The priorities include boosting productivity and climate resilience in agriculture, supporting two crore farmers, and promoting natural farming. For employment, a First Timers Scheme will provide a one-month wage to new workforce entrants, benefitting 2.1 crore youth. Additionally, manufacturing job incentives will support 30 lakh youth and their employers.
Further, employers will receive Rs 3,000 per month for new hires within a salary of Rs 1 lakh/month, and education loans up to Rs 10 lakh will receive a 3% annual interest subvention. Initiatives also cover human resource development, industrial growth in eastern regions, and infrastructure projects such as the Amritsar-Kolkata Corridor. Allocations for rural and urban housing, tribal support, and more were also announced.
