Madhya Pradesh CM Hails Union Budget; Opposition Criticizes 'Double Lies' Government
Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav praised the Union Budget 2024 for fostering development while Congress leader Jitu Patwari criticized the Modi government for unmet job promises. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented key priorities such as agricultural productivity, employment, and social justice in her seventh consecutive budget.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday welcomed the Union Budget 2024 presented in Parliament, emphasizing its potential to boost the state's development. Speaking to ANI, CM Yadav congratulated Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, applauding the focus on agricultural productivity, employment, skill training, economic development, and social justice. 'I extend my wishes on the budget presented on the basis of Viksit Bharat. The shine of India and the spirit of controlling the inflation rate are reflected through Finance Minister Sitharaman's efforts,' he said.
Yadav highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India would establish a new global identity. 'This budget will also give Madhya Pradesh an opportunity to keep pace with its development. The possibility of Viksit Madhya Pradesh is in Viksit Bharat itself,' he added. Sitharaman's presentation marked the first Union Budget of the Modi 3.0 government and her seventh consecutive one, during the Monsoon Session of Parliament which began on July 22 and will end on August 12.
In her budget, Sitharaman outlined key priorities aimed at fostering economic growth and creating opportunities, including resilience in agriculture, employment and skilling, human resource development, manufacturing, urban development, energy security, infrastructure, innovation, and next-generation reforms. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitendra Patwari criticized the budget, labeling the Modi government as 'double lies' over unmet promises. 'The history of the Modi government shows that it came to power with the promise of 2 crore jobs but it became the most unemployed country in the world. Narendra Modi's government is a 'double lies' government instead of a 'double engine',' Patwari said.
