In a significant move for Bihar, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled major developmental initiatives as part of the Union Budget. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha hailed these announcements as a progressive step towards the state's growth. 'The Centre has taken a significant step for Bihar's development with various schemes for the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth, and women. This budget lays the foundation for a 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Viksit Bihar',' said Sinha on Tuesday.

JDU leader Neeraj Kumar echoed Sinha's sentiments, emphasizing the budget's allocation for infrastructure projects such as bridges and industrial corridors. 'These measures will yield positive results for Bihar,' he stated. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar revealed that his consistent advocacy for special status or a special package has led to substantial aid for the state. 'I continuously spoke for special status or package, and they've now started providing aid,' Kumar said.

JDU MP and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh expressed optimism about the state's future growth. 'Today's Budget is abundant with packages across various sectors, including infrastructure, tourism, and irrigation. Bihar's growth rate will see a substantial increase,' he noted. Sitharaman's budget announcement included a boost in infrastructure and special financial support for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. Highlights include the development of an industrial node in Gaya as part of the Amritsar-Kolkata industrial corridor and several expressway projects amounting to Rs 26,000 crore. Additionally, a new 2400 MW power plant at Pirpainti will be established at a cost of Rs 21,400 crore.
