Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal Highlights Comprehensive Budget for Justice Delivery

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal called the latest budget a 'whole of government' approach at a webinar, emphasizing judicial infrastructure, DISHA, e-Courts, and Fast Track Special Courts. The event aimed at discussing ongoing projects and future plans under the 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision for timely justice delivery.

Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, praised the new budget as a comprehensive 'whole of government' approach while addressing a webinar on 'Budgetary Schemes for 2024-25: Strengthening Justice Delivery--Strengthening India.' Meghwal highlighted four key discussion areas: judicial infrastructure, DISHA, e-Courts projects, and the Fast Track Special Courts Scheme. He emphasized that the budget must be viewed through the lens of both direct and indirect involvement of the Ministry of Law and Justice.

The Minister stressed that the budget would accelerate growth and initiatives of the Ministry. The focus of the webinar was on strategizing and realizing both current and new projects, aligning with the 'Viksit Bharat 2047' vision for timely justice for all. Secretary Raj Kumar Goyal, who offered the welcome address, mentioned that the webinar was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision on Budgetary Schemes for 2024-25 and aimed at 'Strengthening Justice Delivery--Strengthening India.' The event was organized by the Department of Justice.

The webinar highlighted outreach activities from various ongoing projects under the Department of Justice. Four breakout sessions explored best practices, judicial insights, and procedural innovations to improve access to justice nationwide. Sessions were themed around Judicial Infrastructure, Fast Track Special Courts, DISHA, and the e-Courts initiative, focusing on challenges and opportunities in the judicial system.
