Defence Minister Sanjay Seth Reviews DRDO-Industry Collaborations

Defence Minister Sanjay Seth visited the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Bhawan in New Delhi on Wednesday. During his visit, Seth was briefed on DRDO's collaborations with the private sector, MSMEs, and academia, particularly in the areas of artificial intelligence, robotics, and cybersecurity.
Seth received a detailed presentation from Dr. Samir V Kamat, Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO, highlighting recent achievements, major projects underway, and future plans. The presentation showcased state-of-the-art technologies and systems developed by DRDO and currently utilized by the Armed Forces.
Additionally, Seth was informed about the Technology Development Fund (TDF) scheme, which promotes private industry participation, especially start-ups and MSMEs, to innovate and enhance defence capabilities. Seven new projects under the TDF scheme were recently awarded to various industries, strengthening the military-industrial ecosystem with indigenous technologies.
