Tragic Leap: Financial Struggles Push Engineer to Desperate Measures

A 38-year-old engineer, K Shriniwas, distressed by financial troubles, allegedly leaped off the Atal Setu bridge in a drastic move on Wednesday afternoon, according to police reports.

Authorities initiated a search operation involving Navi Mumbai Police, Atal Setu rescue teams, coastal police, and local fishermen.

Shriniwas, a resident of Dombivli, departed his home at 11.30 pm and spoke to his wife and four-year-old daughter hours before the incident. He had previously attempted suicide in Kuwait in 2023 due to similar financial distress, officials stated.
