Mangalore City Police, led by the Commissioner of Police, conducted a surprise raid on Mangalore City Jail Barracks early Wednesday morning. The operation involved 2 DCPs, 3 ACPs, 15 PIs, and 150 personnel, resulting in the seizure of numerous contraband items. Further investigations are ongoing.

Early Wednesday morning, under the guidance of the Commissioner of Police, Mangalore City, a surprise raid was carried out on the Mangalore City Jail Barracks. Mangalore Police Commissioner, Anupam Agarwal, reported that the raid, which began at 4 AM, involved 2 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 3 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 15 Police Inspectors, and around 150 personnel.

Multiple teams were strategically formed to simultaneously cover all blocks of the jail, maintaining the secrecy necessary to ensure the operation's effectiveness. The search yielded 25 mobile phones, 1 Bluetooth device, 5 earphones, 1 pen drive, 5 chargers, 1 pair of scissors, 3 cables, and multiple packets of Ganja and other drugs.

This operation highlights the police department's unwavering dedication to ensuring security and curbing illegal activities within the jail. An investigation is currently underway to ascertain how the contraband items were smuggled into the facility. (ANI)
