Adani Energy Reports Major Loss Amid Rising Expenses

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd reported a net loss of Rs 1,190.66 crore for the June 2024 quarter, largely due to increased expenses. The company had a net profit of Rs 181.98 crore during the same period last year. However, total income rose to Rs 5,489.97 crore from Rs 3,772.25 crore.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd on Thursday reported a substantial net loss of Rs 1,190.66 crore for the June 2024 quarter, attributing this financial downturn primarily to rising expenses.

In stark contrast, the company had achieved a net profit of Rs 181.98 crore during the April-June period of the previous fiscal year, 2023-24, as disclosed in a regulatory filing.

Despite the losses, total income saw an appreciable increase, climbing to Rs 5,489.97 crore from Rs 3,772.25 crore year-over-year. During the same period, expenses surged significantly to Rs 4,443 crore, up from Rs 3,124.69 crore a year ago.

As the largest private sector power transmission company in India, these financial results mark a challenging quarter for Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.
