Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday commenced a two-day visit to Jharkhand, focusing on Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL) projects.

During his visit, Reddy is expected to tour coalfield fire zones and subsidence-prone areas, according to an official statement.

Accompanied by Coal India Chairman P M Prasad, the minister arrived in Dhanbad, where he is slated to inspect the Sijua and Kusund areas, interacting with affected residents and visiting Belagaria Township constructed for displaced individuals.

Additionally, Reddy will participate in a high-level meeting on the Jharia Master Plan, aimed at rehabilitating coalfield fire-affected residents, and discuss strategies for increasing BCCL's production.
