Himachal Pradesh Govt. Unveils Ambitious Welfare Schemes for Weaker Sections

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced several schemes aimed at supporting the weaker sections of Himachal Pradesh. Initiatives include financial grants for home construction, free computer training, stipends for trainees, and funding for tools and equipment. The government emphasizes creating equitable access to resources and opportunities.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced the state government’s commitment to uplifting weaker sections, aiming for a just and equitable society. Addressing the media, he highlighted various schemes introduced to provide resources and opportunities, ensuring dignified lives for these communities.

The Swaran Jayanti Ashray Yojna offers a grant of Rs. 1.50 lakh to SC, ST, and OBC individuals earning less than Rs. 50,000 annually for home construction. Last year, this scheme benefitted 1150 houseless persons, with an expenditure of Rs. 17.25 crore.

The government also provides professional training and financial assistance for self-sufficiency. Free computer training is available at 97 NIELIT and C-DAC centers. Additionally, stipends and funds for tools and equipment are provided to eligible individuals. Efforts include a Rs. 12.77 crore common center project at Kaza and 11 minority-benefiting projects worth Rs. 25.45 crore.
