Hiring in the power and energy sector surged by 9.01 per cent in the first half of the financial year 2024-2025, according to the latest TeamLease Services 'Employment Outlook Report.' This rise aligns with India's ambitious target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070.
The report indicates that Delhi tops the list of existing job locations at 56 per cent, followed closely by Bengaluru at 53 per cent and Mumbai at 52 per cent. Jaipur is emerging as a new job location leader at 14 per cent, with Bengaluru, Chennai, and Vadodara each at 13 per cent.
Chief Strategy Officer of TeamLease Services, Subburathinam P, emphasized how the 9.01 per cent net employment change signifies a transformative shift towards a greener future. The government’s focus on green energy initiatives and decarbonization is not just aiding environmental goals but also spurring economic growth through job creation.
