Telangana Man Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Daughter

A 38-year-old man from Nirmal district in Telangana has been arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting his daughter, confirmed local authorities. Identified as Sanjeev, the suspect had a prior conviction for the murder of his second wife and had been released from jail only five months ago.
Post-release, Sanjeev resided with his first wife and their two children in Gundampalli village of Dilawarpur mandal. According to Janaki Sharmila, Superintendent of Police in Nirmal district, the accused developed incestuous thoughts and attempted to rape his daughter on July 19. When the daughter resisted, he threatened to kill both her and her mother if the incident was disclosed.
The daughter confided in her mother and brother, who subsequently reported the matter to the police. A case was registered under Section 6 of the POCSO Act and additional relevant sections. The police used advanced technology to track Sanjeev, who was hiding in Pune, leading to his arrest in Basara on July 28. He has since been sent to judicial custody.
