Safety Crackdown: Bhopal Administration Seals Coaching Academy Basement

Bhopal officials sealed the basement of Aurous Academy following a fatal accident in Delhi's Old Rajendra Nagar. Inspections revealed potential safety hazards. Authorities are taking steps to ensure safety in coaching institutes, with inspections across the state directed by CM Mohan Yadav.

Bhopal district administration took decisive action on Tuesday by sealing the basement and office of Aurous Academy, a coaching institute for IIT-JEE and NEET aspirants, following a deadly accident in Delhi's Old Rajendra Nagar that claimed three students' lives.

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ashutosh Sharma informed ANI that, ``We have sealed the Aurous Academy. The inspection indicated that classes may have been conducted in the basement. To prevent potential future incidents, we've also sealed the entrance to the basement and the office of the institute.''

He added, ``We will issue a notice and investigate further. Our report to the government will determine any additional actions necessary.''

Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Akshay Chaudhary stated, ``All coaching institutes are being inspected collectively to assess safety parameters. SDM and police are checking fire safety, waterlogging, and emergency preparedness to ensure student safety.''

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav instructed state-wide inspections of coaching institutes operating in basements during a review meeting, emphasizing the need for stringent safety measures after the Delhi incident.
