Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Tuesday congratulated Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh for clinching the bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the Paris Olympics. Bhaker made history by becoming the first Indian to win two medals at the same Olympics.

Bhaker and her partner Sarabjot Singh secured bronze in the event, adding to Bhaker's earlier bronze in the women's individual 10m Air Pistol event. Mandaviya expressed his pride on X, saying, 'Huge congratulations to @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the historic BRONZE medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event for Bharat! Your incredible teamwork has made the nation proud.'

President Droupadi Murmu also lauded Bhaker and Singh on X, stating, 'Congratulations to Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning a bronze medal for India in the mixed team 10 meter air pistol event for shooting! Manu Bhaker has created history, becoming the first woman shooter from India to win two medals in the same Olympic games. She has done us immensely proud. I wish her and Sarabjot Singh many more laurels in the future.'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the chorus of accolades, tweeting, 'Our shooters continue to make us proud! Congratulations to @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the Bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the #Olympics. Both of them have shown great skills and teamwork. India is incredibly delighted.'

'For Manu, this is her second consecutive Olympic medal, showcasing her consistent excellence and dedication. #Cheer4Bharat,' he added. In the bronze medal play-off, Bhaker and Singh defeated South Korea's Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10. With this win, India's medal tally at the Paris Olympics grows to two. Earlier, Bhaker and Singh had secured 580-20x points to finish third, ensuring their spot in the finals.
