India Shines at Paris Olympics: Bhaker and Singh Clinch Bronze in Mixed Team Air Pistol

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Tuesday, extended his congratulations to shooters Sarabjot Singh and Manu Bhaker for winning the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics 2024. He wished them success in their future endeavors. Earlier, Manu Bhaker secured India's first bronze medal in the 10m air pistol individual event with a score of 221.7.

The Chief Minister took to 'X' to celebrate this Olympic milestone, writing, "The entire nation is thrilled and proud of your success. May your winning streak continue for years to come! Jai Hind!" Notably, Bhaker has made history as the first Indian to win two medals at the same Olympics.

Bhaker and her partner Sarabjot Singh clinched the bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, defeating South Korea's Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10 in the bronze medal play-off match. This victory takes India's medal tally at the Paris Olympics to two. The NRAI celebrated, stating, "India wins bronze as Bhaker and Singh beat Korea's Oh Ye Jin & Lee Wonho 16-10."

With her second medal at these Games, Manu Bhaker continues to script history. On Monday, Bhaker-Sarabjot secured 580 points to finish third, with the gold medal match set between Turkiye and Serbia. Speaking to JioCinema post-win, Bhaker reflected on overcoming past disappointments after Tokyo, stating, "I came back stronger. What is now is what matters."
