Gujarat's 'Sakhi Samvad' Showcases Self-Help Group Success

The 'Sakhi Samvad' event, held in Gandhinagar with Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel, celebrated women's self-help groups' products. Women across the state showcased their skills, embodying the National Rural Livelihood Mission's goal of self-reliance through varied economic activities, including sewing and food production.

A program for the distribution of aid to women of self-help groups, named 'Sakhi Samvad,' was organized in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. The event saw the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Products crafted by women from these self-help groups across the state were displayed at the program.

Representatives from all 33 districts participated actively, purchasing various products showcased at the exhibition stalls. Under the National Rural Livelihood Mission Scheme, rural women are being trained in diverse skills to become self-reliant, enabling them to engage in various livelihood activities.

Supported by the Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company under the Rural Development Department, women are earning stable incomes through activities such as Bharat Gunthan (Fancy Work), Sewing, Catering, and more. This initiative is significantly elevating their standard of living. At 'Sakhi Samvad,' over Rs 350 crore was distributed among more than 2 lakh women from 28,000 self-help groups, aiming to economically uplift them.
