Tragic Drowning Incident in Narmada River Claims Three Lives

A teenager and his family members drowned in the Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh while trying to save one another. The victims were bathing at Peshwa Ghat in Maheshwar and hailed from Indore. Despite rescue efforts by the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF), all three perished.

A heartbreaking incident occurred in Madhya Pradesh's Khargone district on Wednesday when a teenager, his mother, and sister drowned in the Narmada river.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police Tarunendra Singh, the victims were bathing at the Peshwa Ghat in Maheshwar, a revered temple town.

Vikram Singh Rajput (18) ventured deep into the river and started to drown. His mother Urmila (44) and sister Mohini (25) courageously jumped in to save him, but their efforts proved fatal for all three. The family was visiting from Indore. Despite prompt action by divers and the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF), the tragic loss could not be averted.
